U13 Provincial Program Identification Process

2016-03-01

Memo for all parents on the process to be selected for the SNS U13 provincial program summer ID camp.

MEMO

To: Soccer Nova Scotia U12 Academy Parents

From: Soccer Nova Scotia Technical Department

Date: 1st March, 2016

Subject: U12 Academy Identification Process

I feel it is necessary to outline a number of concerns that have been raised in conjunction with the selection of the next U13 provincial program. We are intending to release a clear easy to read document, outlining the process but in the meantime I hope this assists with any questions you may have about the identification process.

  1. Process - The identification selection is ongoing for the academy program and between discussing with the club technical directors, opposition technical directors, observing the regular season games, events and attending training sessions unannounced we want this to be a process rather than conducted over a few isolated events.
  2. Time - This allows us to observe the player over a period of time and measure them from start to finish. Committing to a player months before the summer identification camp and before they have started the 9-aside summer season, has resulted in us not having a true reflection of those players who deserve to be in attendance.
  3. Development - When we do it over several elements of the players experience we can take into account all four corners of the players development: Technical/Tactical, Physical, Mental & Social/Emotional.
  4. When - We will invite players to the ID summer camp in early July.
  5. Dates - The ID Camp will take place August 15th to 19th, 2016. This year we will split the boys and the girls into two separate camps in order to spend quality contact time with smaller numbers.
  • Girls - 15th & 16th (Full days) and 17th (Half day)
  • Boys - 17th (Half day), 18th & 19th (Full days)

Thanks again and if you have an questions, feel free to voice them with your regional/club technical director, who can submit them to the SNS technical department. Your honest feedback is appreciated in this first year of the Soccer Nova Scotia U12 Academy Program.

Best Wishes
